Helen England

Helen has dedicated over 30 years to health and social care, beginning her career as a clinician specialising in child development, autism, learning disabilities, and mental health. Her professional journey progressed into executive leadership within the NHS, encompassing both provider and commissioning roles. Helen’s Chief Executive experience spans the independent and voluntary sectors.
In addition to her executive roles, Helen is an experienced trustee and non-executive director for various not-for-profit organisations. She has a keen interest in corporate governance, transformation, and organisational/system development, emphasising the importance of these disciplines in optimising value and impact for people and communities.
Helen’s contributions to the NHS were recognised with a fellowship from the NIHR, where she explored knowledge mobilisation and the integration of evidence and insights to drive transformation, service delivery, and informed commissioning decisions.
Since January 2023, Helen has been serving as the Chief Executive of Brandon Trust, a leading organisation in social care which supports autistic individuals and people with learning disabilities. Under her leadership, Brandon Trust employs over 2,000 staff across the south of England, making a significant impact in delivering community based provision and social enterprise.
Outside of her professional endeavours, Helen is an avid classical musician. In her spare time, she enjoys playing orchestral timpani and singing in chamber choirs, blending her passion for music and people.
